Helena, my queer affair

Deep in the cave ,where no one can see,
Down I go, excited with glee.
Apple in my hand and the morning's paper,
Spiders come out, air filled with vapor.
After a decline of more than an hour,
I reach for my pocket, taking out a flower.
My presence's detected, I cannot conceal,
A huge beast is rising, the scene is surreal.
All gnarly and scales, redder then wine,
Its size is amazing, Its looks malign.
Holding out the flower, the serpent comes near,
It opens its mouth, but I am a man with no fear.
Snatching the flower, with one big bite,
The snake is then settled and crawl in delight.
I then read her the paper, the apple we share,
"Helena!" I whisper, "My queer affair..."
